Secretary's Best Option frees the citizen taken hostage by Abu Sayyaf
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Foreign Ministry) said the search of the 10 citizens who were held hostage terrorist group Abu Sayyaf in the Philippines continues to be done. The crew were allegedly held hostage since early this week.
Foreign Minister (FM) Retno Marsudi said the government is ready to work hard to ensure that each citizen is able to escape.
"Scoping best option continues to be done," said Foreign Minister Retno at Palapa Lounge Ministry of Foreign Affairs office, Jakarta, Thursday (03/31/2016).

10 citizen who worked as crew members were taken hostage terrorist group Abu Sayyaf when their vessels enter Philippine waters. There are two ships hijacked the ship Brahma 12 and 12. Both Anand ships transporting coal weighing 7,000 tonnes.
Based on the information, the Foreign Ministry learned that both ships have been hijacked while en route from Sungai Puting South Kalimantan towards Batangas, Southern Philippines. However, it is unknown exactly when the ship was hijacked.
