Daeng Soetigna Google Doodle Today?
Google search page featuring doodle of a man who was teaching an instrument to two of his disciples. More precisely, it is a musical instrument angklung.

The teacher is none other than Soetigna Daeng. Today, Friday (05/13/2016), marking the 108th anniversary. But he had already passed away on 8 April 1984 ago.
So, what makes Daeng so special to be made doodle? Apparently, the man born in Garut is the creator of diatonic angklung.
His name is known as a man of honor among musicians homeland. During his life, active Daeng Angklung orchestra performances held throughout Indonesia.
His work managed to break the tradition. He was able to make traditional musical instrument which can play music internationally.
Since 1928, Daeng began his career as an art teacher. In 1942, when Japan came to Indonesia, Daeng appointed as Principal HIS (later the name was changed so Sekolah Rakyat).
Not long after, he had his own school in 1950. Daeng also had received teacher education in Australia and return as an educator consultant for the government.
With a high position, Daeng does not necessarily feel exclusive. He is still active teach angklung to a group of elementary school children.
His struggle angklung music lifted from the lower class to class concert fragrant top made his name until now. Google also participated respect Daeng struggle to commemorate his birthday.
