Tsunami Ecuador, Warning Earthquake Ecuador 7.4 on the Richter
An earthquake measuring 7.4 on the Richter scale (SR) rocked the area off the coast of Ecuador, South America, the morning local time. Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (Pacific Tsunami Warning Center) said the earthquake is likely to create a tsunami along the coast of Ecuador to Colombia.
"There is a possibility of a tsunami from this earthquake which will run 300 kilometers from the epicenter along the coast of Ecuador and Colombia," said the office of the Pacific tsunami warning as reported by Reuters, Sunday (04/17/2016).
The earthquake was centered off the coast of Ecuador at a depth of 10 kilometers (6 miles) and 173 kilometers (107 miles) northwest of the capital Quito.
There are no reports of casualties and damage caused by this earthquake.

Esmeralda itself is a coastal city located in northwest Ecuador.
