Gen. Tito Karnavian Handshake Official Police Chief
Tito Karnavian office as Chief of Police after the inauguration of President Joko Widodo. Tito rank immediately raised one level to police generals.
Inauguration procession was held at the State Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (13/07/2016) at 14:00 pm.
Observation Kompas.com, the inauguration was preceded by the reading of the decree on the appointment of President Tito.
"Presidential Decree No. 48 Year 2016 concerning the National Police dismissal and the appointment of Chief of Police," said Hadi Young Marshal Military Secretariat Tjahjanto when reading the decree.
Through the decree, the President shall decide to dismiss Gen. Badrodin Haiti with NRP 85070887 from the office of the Chief of Police as well as lift Tito Karnavian with NRP 64100600 as police chief.
"Presidential Decree comes into force after the completion of the official inauguration," said Hadi.
After that, the inauguration ceremony was followed by the oath tutored by President Jokowi and ended with the signing of the minutes of the inauguration ceremony.
After the whole procession was held, Hadi re-read the Presidential Decree No. 49 Year 2016 concerning the National Police promotion of Tito level of commissioner-general of police generals.
The inauguration was attended by Vice President Jusuf Kalla, the fifth President Megawati Sukarnoputri, and senior state officials.
Working Cabinet ranks were also present, including the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Tjahjo Kumolo Interior Minister, Minister of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform Yuddy Chrisnandi, as well as the head of BIN Sutiyoso.
Police officials were present, among others, the Deputy Chief of Police Commissioner General Budi Gunawan, Kalemdikpol Komjen Sjafruddin, Kakorlantas Inspector General Budi Maryoto, Head of Public Relations Public Relations Inspector General of Police Amar Joey Boy, and Kepolda Metro Jaya Police Inspector General Moechgiyarto.
In addition, the Commissioner also attended the ranks of the National Police Commission. They took turns congratulating Tito at the end of the inauguration procession.

President Jokowi Give task for reform of Polri

He revealed that the reform should be carried out of the process of recruitment to mental and behavioral changes in members of the Police.
"Reform of Polri must be concrete in the phase of service, improve the quality of public services making it easier and simpler, free extortion, according to the procedure," said Jokowi.
Tito is also expected to maintain internal unity and solidity of the Police, eradicate mafia law, do aegis in maintaining diversity in the community, and is able to synergize with other government institutions.
"Synergy is required to invite the public to understand the danger of terrorism and drugs. Perform prevention, early detection," said Jokowi.
